The Software Development Engineer role at Amazon S3 Glacier involves leading the design and implementation of a distributed storage service that operates at extreme scale. Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience
- 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of a distributed storage service
- Develop distributed system services using Java and low-level systems coding
- Solve challenging fundamental computer science problems
- Participate in test automation, verification processes, and design and code reviews
- Engage in a regular on-call rotation to support the service
