As an Operations Engineer at Amazon, you will manage the lifecycle of cross-functional projects focused on sortation and distribution solutions. You will work closely with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure timely project execution while maintaining high standards. The role emphasizes continuous improvement and collaboration within a diverse team of engineers. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of Amazon's supply chain operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field
- Experience in engineering including a supervisory role managing people
- Experience in a fast-paced, automated, industrial, logistics, production or manufacturing environment
- 3+ years of professional experience
- Experience with automated equipment including packaging machinery, sortation and conveyor systems
- Experience in preventative maintenance systems
Responsibilities
- Manage the lifecycle of challenging projects and deliver on project objectives and targets.
- Participate in engineering reviews and impact proposed solutions on systems architecture and facility processes.
- Partner with internal teams and external vendors to set project priorities and drive schedules.
- Lead execution efforts in delivering systems and automated equipment designs.
- Communicate project status, risk analysis, and mitigation plans to stakeholders.
- Articulate system and equipment designs to internal customers and partner teams.
- Manage change order controls, purchase orders, and invoice validation.
- Identify and lead process improvement initiatives to enhance team efficiencies.
- Travel up to 80% domestically to support project execution.
