Job description
The role is for a software engineer within KLA's Global Products Group, focusing on the development and troubleshooting of multidisciplinary software and hardware systems for semiconductor manufacturing. The team is dedicated to creating metrology and inspection products that enhance the efficiency of chip production. Candidates will work with advanced technologies to ensure high-quality wafer and IC manufacturing processes. This position requires strong analytical skills and a solid foundation in software development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent with 5+ years of work experience, or a Master's degree with 3+ years of experience, or a PhD with relevant experience.
- Proven experience developing and troubleshooting multidisciplinary software and hardware systems.
- Extensive experience in C++ development with a strong foundation in object-oriented design.
- Working knowledge of multithreading and multiprocessing concepts.
- Hands-on experience developing applications on Windows and/or Linux operating systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on debugging complex systems.
- Deep familiarity with memory management and optimization.
- Expertise in performance profiling, debugging, and system optimization.
- Experience with version control systems and CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop and troubleshoot software and hardware systems for semiconductor products.
- Collaborate with engineers and product marketing teams to enhance product offerings.
- Utilize object-oriented design principles and relational database design patterns in development.
- Engage in the software development life cycle including analysis, design, development, and testing.
- Interact and communicate effectively with staff and management at all levels.
- Travel to customer sites for software troubleshooting as needed.
