Job description
The Security Engineer role in the Global Cyber Defense and Intelligence (GCDI) team focuses on advanced threat detection and response to proactively identify and mitigate cyber threats. The team is responsible for enhancing the firm's security posture through the development of detection models and incident response workflows. Candidates will work with large data sets and utilize various analytic techniques to improve threat detection. This position requires hands-on technical skills and a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles.
Requirements
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient scripting skills in Python and PowerShell
- Advanced understanding of Linux Operating Systems
- Hands-on experience with forensics toolkits such as Volatility and EnCase
- Ability to conduct cybersecurity investigations as a Level 2 analyst
Responsibilities
- Analyze potential infrastructure security incidents to determine if they qualify as legitimate security breaches.
- Perform host-based and network forensic investigations to determine the cause of security incidents.
- Participate in a 24x7 on-call coverage model to prevent and remediate security threats.
- Improve security sensors by tuning security controls in response to evolving threats.
- Develop use cases based on adversarial tactics and optimize detection efficacy.
