The Environmental Remediation Scientist/Geologist role at Jacobs focuses on environmental site characterization, field investigation, and remediation. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, civil engineering, environmental science, geology, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in environmental site characterization and remediation.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to organize multiple field activities.
  • Commitment to working safely and protecting subcontractors, coworkers, clients, and the public.
  • Ability to obtain professional certifications or licenses.
  • Current 40-hr HAZWOPER certification.
  • Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Design and perform site investigations including soil, soil vapor, groundwater, and surface water.
  • Work on remediation process systems and mine closure.
  • Support the development and management of SPCC and SWPPP programs.
  • Write technical reports and evaluate environmental data.
  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to develop thoughtful strategies for projects.
  • Ensure all projects meet high safety, compliance, and quality standards.
