Job description
The Hardware Engineer will be part of Apple's Camera Hardware Engineering group, focusing on the development of high-performance compact camera modules. This role involves collaborating with various teams to research, design, develop, test, and qualify camera hardware for Apple products. The engineer will take ownership of camera hardware projects and lead engagements with product and technology teams. The goal is to create innovative camera technology that enhances the photography experience for millions of customers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Optical Science, Physics, or a related field.
- Master's or PhD degree and 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Experience with structural and thermal Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
- Proficiency in NX software.
- Experience with tolerance analysis of high complexity and precision mechanical designs, with an excellent understanding of GD&T.
- Experience designing for plastic injection molding and metal stamping for mass production.
- Experience with various materials, including research, selection, testing, and process ability.
- PCB design experience.
- Knowledge of magnetic simulation and voice coil motor (VCM) for cameras.
