Job description
The Mechanical Engineer role at Amazon focuses on supporting the development of Prime Air Drone electrical propulsion subsystem hardware and related test systems. Requirements
- 4+ years of working in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
- Experience with prototyping and implementation
- Knowledge of SolidWorks simulation or Ansys Finite Element analysis tools
- Experience in the design of complex mechanical products and equipment at volume
- Master's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
- Knowledge of current industry standards
Responsibilities
- Conduct mechanical design and layout trades contributing to overall system architecture configuration selection.
- Generate detailed designs with 3D CAD assemblies/components and 2D drawings as deliverables.
- Conduct static, dynamic, and modal structural analysis as needed to support design work.
- Deliver efficient designs capable of high volume production throughput.
- Document and present materials for technical design reviews.
- Design and support test campaigns for drone hardware.
