Job description
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Network Deployment Engineer to join the Infrastructure Operations team, focusing on building and scaling Amazon Dedicated Cloud regions. The role involves ensuring the stability and sustainability of next-generation networks while collaborating with internal customers and external vendors. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and significant experience in supporting large-scale networks. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph
- 1+ years of technical work experience, or Bachelor's degree in an advanced technical program
- High school or equivalent diploma, or CCNA or equivalent level networking certification
- 2+ years of data center engineering experience
- Knowledge of IP networking fundamentals such as BGP, OSPF and other R&S technologies
- 2+ years of network cabling, fiber optics, and test equipment experience
Responsibilities
- Clearly communicate project status and blockers to leadership and project management.
- Perform device build and cabling validation activities.
- Manage cabling vendor activities and perform quality assurance activities.
- Support Network Engineering deployment activities during scheduled change management windows.
- Troubleshoot networking, routing and interconnectivity issues.
- Manage work and priorities through a ticketing system and collaborate with various stakeholders.
