Amazon is looking for a Principal Gear & Gearbox Manufacturing Engineer to lead precision gear and gearbox manufacturing for advanced electromechanical systems. This role involves owning the manufacturing strategy from cutting to assembly while ensuring high standards of quality and performance. The engineer will also establish partnerships with suppliers and drive process development to optimize production. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in gear manufacturing and the ability to influence product design through collaboration.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science, or related field
• 10+ years in precision gear and/or gearbox manufacturing engineering in production environments
• Mastery of precision gear production and established industry relationships
• Experience with CAD software and gear design/analysis tools
• Expert knowledge of GD&T, gear metrology, and SPC

• Serve as principal technical authority on all gear manufacturing decisions
• Own end-to-end gear and gearbox manufacturing strategy
• Define manufacturing standards and identify capability requirements
• Establish strategic partnerships with gear machine tool OEMs and suppliers
• Drive supplier selection, qualification, and performance management
• Own gear manufacturing portion of production facility design
• Partner with hardware engineering on DFM/DFA specific to gears
• Drive process development and optimization for precision actuator gears
• Manage multi-supplier gear manufacturing programs from concept through production
