Job description
As a Data Center Project Engineer at AWS, you will be part of a diverse team focused on constructing energy-efficient and cost-effective data centers. You will collaborate with various teams to ensure high-quality delivery and support for data center construction. This role involves daily interactions with construction managers and stakeholders, emphasizing communication and coordination. You will also manage documentation and tracking systems to streamline project workflows.
Requirements
- 3+ years of vendor management experience
- 4+ years of relevant work in a data center or other critical environment experience
- 5+ years of data center engineering or operations experience
- 5+ years of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Electrical or mechanical Journeyman License
- Operating engineering license such as DC II, DC III, or equivalent
Responsibilities
- Establish communication and coordination across a data center region’s general contractors, stakeholders, and internal teams.
- Develop and maintain a tracking system for design changes, RFI’s, and change orders.
- Request and review MOPs for proper detail, necessity, and risk.
- On-board new vendors for badging and orientation.
- Update project management software with milestone dates, correspondence, and documents.
- Monitor delivery of owner furnished material to site.
- Compile and store construction data from vendors.
- Manage various checklists including substantial completion checks, safety, and quality.
