Job description

Amazon is looking for a Principal Manufacturing Engineer to lead the development and deployment of electronics manufacturing operations, focusing on PCBA production and wire harness integration. This senior individual contributor role will establish world-class manufacturing processes at production scale. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in electronics manufacturing and will drive technical execution across cross-functional teams. This position requires a blend of technical authority, leadership, and problem-solving skills to meet Amazon's operational objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline.
  • 12+ years of direct manufacturing engineering experience in electronics production environments.
  • Deep expertise in SMT assembly processes including stencil printing and reflow soldering.
  • Strong experience with electronics test strategy development and deployment.
  • Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end electronics manufacturing line concept and design.
  • Develop and validate robust manufacturing process parameters for various assembly processes.
  • Oversee detailed design of production systems and manage the RFQ and deployment process.
  • Partner with electrical engineering and product design teams to drive DFM considerations.
  • Drive continuous improvement using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
