The Director of Software Engineering will lead the development of the Operations Workstation platform at Fidelity, focusing on modernizing and enhancing the technology used by brokerage operations users. This role involves shaping the future of operations technology by replacing outdated systems with a high-performance, container-based solution. The team is responsible for ensuring seamless integration across enterprise systems while maintaining operational stability. The position requires strong leadership and strategic planning to drive a multi-year modernization journey.

• 10–12 years in software engineering leadership, including experience at the Director level.
• Experience in complex, multi-year transformation programs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated domain knowledge in brokerage, financial services operations, back-office processing.
• Experience building and leading high-performing engineering teams in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
• Strong proficiency in Angular and modern front-end development practices.
• Solid understanding of Java and Spring Boot for back-end services and API development.
• Experience with platform interoperability design and implementation.
• Hands-on experience with container-based application architecture.
• Proven ability to work with and modernize legacy technology stacks while maintaining system stability.
• Strong understanding of UI/UX principles as applied to complex operations workstations.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices in a regulated financial environment.
• Solid grasp of software architecture, distributed systems, and real-time data platforms.

• Assist VP of Engineering in developing and implementing a multi-year technology strategy for Brokerage Operations workstation.
• Partner with Product Manager and VP of Engineering to build a delivery roadmap balancing modernization and operational stability.
• Translate strategic intent into actionable engineering plans with clear milestones and success metrics.
• Lead structured planning and prioritization processes for capability delivery and platform modernization.
• Drive consistency across platform experience for operations users.
• Establish design principles and platform standards to guide engineering decisions.
• Communicate technical strategy and delivery roadmaps to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of engineers.
• Own end-to-end engineering delivery from backlog refinement to production deployment.
• Drive a high-performance delivery culture that balances velocity with quality and security.
• Establish and monitor KPIs for delivery health and modernization progress.
• Remove organizational blockers that impede engineering execution.
• Drive incident management and operational stability improvements across the platform.
• Champion the integration of AI-driven automation across the software development lifecycle.
