Job description

The Credit (Counterparty) Research Analyst role focuses on conducting fundamental credit research on Fidelity's insurance and financial partners. The analyst will evaluate potential and existing counterparties, providing insights and recommendations to various business units. The Counterparty Research and Analytics team is dedicated to managing risks associated with trading and treasury relationships. This position requires strong analytical skills and effective communication with senior leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA, CFA, or Associate/Fellow of the Society of Actuaries preferred.
  • Experience conducting fundamental credit analysis, particularly with insurance companies and financial institutions.
  • Strong analytical skills and critical thinking with experience in quantitative methodologies and financial modeling.
  • Ability to communicate impactfully, both orally and in writing, with internal stakeholders and Fidelity senior leadership.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and self-directed environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform credit analysis on potential and existing counterparties based on financial strengths and weaknesses.
  • Prepare formal credit research notes on each counterparty, including internal credit ratings and supporting rationale.
  • Understand relevant country, industry, market, economic, political, and regulatory issues affecting credit profiles.
  • Lead due diligence meetings with counterparty senior management teams as part of the credit evaluation process.
  • Maintain relationships and effective communications with the Director of Counterparty Research and other Fidelity personnel.
