Job description

Qualcomm is seeking a senior SoC platform software engineer to contribute to the development of next-generation automotive solutions. The role involves understanding software product requirements and their relationship to specific hardware blocks or sub-systems. The engineer will lead the development, debugging, and customer interactions for various platform software drivers and modules. This position is part of Qualcomm's Automotive Team, which focuses on advancements in automotive infotainment, telematics, and autonomous driving technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Software Engineering experience, or a Master's degree with 5+ years, or a PhD with 4+ years.
  • 3+ years of work experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
  • Strong hands-on experience in at least 3 areas including Linux kernel, QNX Kernel, and SoC architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, create, modify, and validate critical embedded and cloud edge software.
  • Analyze user needs and software requirements to customize sophisticated software for optimal operational efficiency.
  • Lead design, coding, and testing efforts to ensure projects are completed to specifications.
  • Perform complex code reviews and regression tests to ensure code quality.
  • Collaborate with hardware, systems, and test engineers to design solutions that integrate with other components.
  • Write detailed technical documentation for complex software projects and review documentation for junior engineers.
