Job description
The Manager, Technical Operations is responsible for overseeing Amazon's in-region postponement factory operations. This role involves leading a team of Senior Operations Program Managers and Senior Site Technical Managers to ensure factory readiness, production launch, and sustained operations. The focus is on defining team strategy, setting goals, and driving cross-functional execution to deliver programs efficiently. The position requires building a high-performing team capable of solving complex manufacturing challenges in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- 10+ years in manufacturing operations with at least 3 years managing teams of technical individual contributors.
- Experience in high-volume manufacturing operations or sourcing environments.
- 2+ years of programmable logic controls (PLC) programs experience.
- Experience in program management spanning planning, execution, and project delivery.
- Data analysis skills using tools such as Matlab, JMP, or Minitab.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent experience in team management and problem solving.
- Experience communicating complex information and solutions to senior stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Own the performance, delivery, and development of a team of Senior Operations Program Managers and Senior Site Technical Managers.
- Define team goals and strategy by working backwards from customer problems and business needs.
- Set program priorities with the team and align resources across various departments.
- Lead recruitment efforts by attracting and hiring high-quality talent.
- Drive process improvement using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Communicate program status, risks, and decisions clearly to leadership.
- Ensure the team meets production and yield targets during production launches.
