Job description
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Load and Fault Environments team at Robinhood, you will design and build infrastructure that enables engineers to simulate load and validate system behavior under stress. This role is part of a high-performing team focused on applying frontier technologies to solve significant financial challenges. You will own key components of the load testing and fault injection platform, ensuring reliability and scalability. Collaboration with various engineering teams is essential to drive the adoption of the tools you develop.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong coding skills in Python, Go, or a similar language.
- Experience designing or contributing to load testing, fault injection, chaos engineering, or developer productivity infrastructure in a distributed systems environment.
- Solid understanding of distributed systems fundamentals, including service failures and designing experiments.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and container-based infrastructure.
- A builder's approach to developer tooling, focusing on ergonomics and adoption.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain load testing and fault injection infrastructure for engineering teams.
- Own platform components end-to-end, from architecture and implementation to testing and deployment.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and product engineering teams to understand their resilience testing needs.
- Contribute to defining steady-state hypotheses and fault injection primitives for chaos experiments.
- Write clean, well-tested code and participate in technical design discussions.
