The role focuses on developing measurement frameworks and metrics to enhance data-driven decision making at Pinterest. The candidate will work closely with product, engineering, and machine learning leadership to improve the notifications user experience and optimize machine learning models. This position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate findings effectively to drive business decisions. The ideal candidate will also mentor other data scientists and contribute to the overall growth of the team.

• 8+ years of combined post-graduate academic and industry experience applying scientific methods to solve real-world problems on web-scale data.
• Strong background in statistics, machine learning, and/or experimentation.
• Expertise in at least one scripting language, ideally Python or R.
• Proficiency in SQL or Hive.
• Strong business and product sense with the ability to shape vague questions into well-defined analyses.
• Excellent communication skills to lead initiatives and communicate findings with leadership.
• Experience working closely with cross-functional teams and iterating on user products via A/B experimentation.
• Experience leading key technical projects and influencing the scope and output of others.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
