As the Engineering Manager for the Execution Sandbox team at Databricks, you will lead the development and delivery of a new service that is critical to the company's serverless compute platform. You will manage a team of strong engineers and ensure the service is launched with production-grade reliability. Your role involves unifying compute management paths and collaborating with multiple partner organizations to drive alignment on API contracts. This position offers the opportunity to shape product strategy and influence future offerings.

• 5+ years managing engineers building and operating distributed systems in production, ideally control-plane or orchestration services.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Deep technical fluency in infrastructure systems and the ability to review architecture documents.
• Experience with multi-cloud or multi-region service deployment across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• A bias toward operational rigor and a commitment to observability, SLOs, and healthy on-call cultures.

• Own the end-to-end delivery of the Execution Sandbox Service from inception to production scale.
• Architect and launch a greenfield provisioning layer for non-Spark compute workloads.
• Unify disparate CPU and GPU cluster management paths into a single provisioning service.
• Collaborate across 5+ partner organizations to drive alignment on API contracts and shared milestones.
• Shape product strategy in partnership with Product Management to leverage the new sandbox primitive.
