The role focuses on adapting large language models (LLMs) and AI systems for enterprise domains within the Mosaic AI organization at Databricks. The research team aims to tackle open research problems related to domain adaptation, including evaluation, fine-tuning with synthetic data, and efficient inference. Candidates will work on projects that involve both improving existing methods and designing new approaches. • Research experience in and proficiency with the fundamentals of deep learning.
• Pursuing a PhD in computer science or related fields such as electrical engineering, neuroscience, physics, or math.
• Proficient software engineering skills, including experience with PyTorch.

• Adapt, improve, and evaluate methods from existing literature.
• Design entirely new methods for domain adaptation.
• Compose multiple methods to create new recipes for efficient post-training.
