As a software engineer with a backend focus at Databricks, you will contribute to building infrastructure and products for the Databricks platform at scale. You will work within a team that spans various domains, including serverless infrastructure and machine learning. The role emphasizes solving technical challenges and improving the performance and efficiency of workloads. You will be involved in projects that enhance the overall Databricks ecosystem.

• BS (or higher) in Computer Science or a related field
• 5+ years of production level experience in Java, Scala, Golang, C++, or similar language
• Experience developing large-scale distributed systems
• Experience working on a SaaS platform or with Service-Oriented Architectures
• Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or Kubernetes
• Experience with security and systems that handle sensitive data

• Build the Databricks serverless platform to support big data, machine learning, and Gen AI workloads.
• Develop cutting-edge OS, container, and networking technologies for the Databricks infrastructure.
• Grow a partner ecosystem for Databricks SQL by providing toolkits for seamless integrations.
• Create a multi-language collaborative REPL experience for Databricks users focused on Data Science and AI/ML.
• Build tools and frameworks to enhance the developer experience for Databricks engineers.
