Apple's Human Interface Devices (HID) group is seeking an algorithms engineer to innovate human-computer interactions. The team works on various Apple products, including AirPods and iPhones, focusing on developing new sensing technologies and interaction paradigms. As an algorithms engineer, you will prototype interactions and validate algorithmic concepts while collaborating closely with hardware, software, and design partners. This role requires a self-motivated individual who thrives in ambiguous situations and is skilled in building cross-disciplinary relationships.

• Experience in early-stage algorithm development from concept through validation
• Strong fundamentals in algorithms and mathematics, including state machine design, statistics, signal processing, and machine learning
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C++ and Python
• Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Human Computer Interaction, or a related field with 3+ years of experience, or a Master's/PhD with 5+ years of experience
• Experience developing for real-time systems
• Experience developing interactions or input technologies
• Familiarity with Objective-C and/or Swift
• Experience developing software with agentic workflows
