Job description
Apple's Human Interface Devices (HID) group is seeking an algorithms engineer to innovate human-computer interactions across various Apple products. The team is diverse, with expertise in computer science, controls, human factors, and signal processing. The role involves prototyping and defining interactions, collaborating closely with hardware, software, and design partners. The engineer will develop and validate algorithmic concepts, taking prototypes from concept to production for millions of users.
Requirements
- Experience in early-stage algorithm development from concept through validation.
- Strong fundamentals in algorithms and mathematics, including state machine design, statistics, signal processing, and machine learning.
- Proficiency in programming languages C++ and Python.
- Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Human Computer Interaction, or a related field with 3+ years of experience, or a Master's/PhD with 5+ years of experience.
- Experience developing for real-time systems.
- Experience developing interactions or input technologies.
- Familiarity with Objective-C and/or Swift.
- Experience developing software with agentic workflows.
