Job description

The role is for a senior level IC packaging engineer focused on developing innovative packaging solutions for consumer markets. The engineer will interface with internal teams and external suppliers to advance packaging technologies. A strong emphasis is placed on negotiation and influence to align industry practices with company needs. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in reducing development cycles and qualifying devices for high-volume manufacturing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • M.S. or Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering, physics, materials science, or similar disciplines.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in IC packaging.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, APD, and multi-physics simulation is a plus.
  • Industry experience working on Wafer Level Packaging (WLP) in IDM or Fabless companies.
  • Hands-on experience with Wafer Bumping and Dielectric materials.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing assembly processes such as wafer back-grind, wafer dicing, and Flip Chip die attach.
  • In-depth knowledge of Wafer Level Chip Scale Packaging and BEOL assembly processes.
  • Expertise in package qualification and reliability testing.
  • Ability to understand device physics and component/board level reliability testing.

Responsibilities

  • Develop custom silicon packaging solutions for various consumer markets.
  • Interface between product/device design, quality, supply chain, and external suppliers.
  • Drive industry practices to meet company needs through negotiation and influence.
  • Reduce package development cycles and qualify devices for high-volume manufacturing.
  • Construct designs of experiments and select materials and processes.
  • Perform independent research and development work with minimal supervision.
  • Present ideas, design concepts, and plans confidently in team and executive meetings.
