The Senior Mechanical Engineer role at AWS involves ownership and continuous improvement of data center liquid cooling infrastructure products. You will join a diverse team of engineers and specialists, working collaboratively to ensure safety, security, and efficiency in AWS data centers. The position requires hands-on mechanical and manufacturing experience, particularly in liquid cooling systems. You will also be responsible for maintaining engineering ownership throughout the operational life of these products.

• 6+ years of data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance experience
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
• 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering experience in mission critical facilities
• Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities
• Professional Engineering or Architectural License
• Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region
• Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production
• Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents

• Possess strong engineering judgement and provide recommendations despite uncertainty
• Review, update, and approve equipment submittals
• Work with global liquid cooling equipment suppliers and manufacturers
• Build trust and relationships with different stakeholders
• Support Operations including failure mode and root cause analysis
• Listen to the voice of the customer to understand if there are improvements that can be made
• Work with global suppliers and manufacturers to design product improvements
• Contribute to our global body of knowledge and drive a cycle of continuous improvement
