The Solutions Architect role at Databricks focuses on leading the growth of the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform. This customer-facing position requires expertise in cloud platforms, data engineering, and machine learning. The role involves collaborating with customers and internal teams to develop architectures and solutions that drive meaningful business outcomes. The Solutions Architect will also promote open source projects and build relationships within the developer community.

• 7+ years in a customer-facing pre-sales or consulting role, preferably with big-data technologies.
• Experience designing and architecting distributed data systems.
• Proficiency in programming and debugging in at least one of the following: Python, SQL, Scala, Java, or R.
• Experience with public cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with Data Engineering technologies like Spark, Hadoop, or Kafka.
• Experience with Data Warehousing technologies such as SQL, OLTP/OLAP/DSS.
• Undergraduate degree or higher in an engineering or mathematics discipline.

• Partner with the sales team to help customers understand how Databricks can solve their business problems.
• Provide technical leadership for customers to evaluate and adopt Databricks.
• Consult on big data architecture and execute proof of concepts for strategic customer projects.
• Build and present reference architectures and demonstrate applications for customers.
• Promote open source projects across developer communities through meetups, conferences, and webinars.
• Travel to meet with customers in your territory.
