The Solutions Architect at Databricks is responsible for leading the growth of the Databricks Unified Analytics Platform. This customer-facing role involves collaborating with customers, sales teams, and product teams to identify use cases, develop architectures, and guide customers through implementation. The position requires expertise in cloud platforms, data engineering, and machine learning, utilizing open-source projects like Apache Spark and MLflow. The Solutions Architect will also build relationships with customers and become a trusted advisor.

• 7+ years in a customer-facing pre-sales, technical architecture, or consulting role
• Experience designing and architecting distributed data systems
• Comfortable programming in, and debugging, at least one of: Python, Scala, Java, SQL, or R
• Have built solutions with public cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Familiarity with data engineering technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, or Kafka
• Experience with data warehousing concepts including SQL, OLTP/OLAP/DSS
• Experience supporting Financial Services clients is a plus
• Desired degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science or Applied Mathematics

• Partner with the sales team to help customers understand how Databricks can solve their business problems
• Provide technical leadership for customers to evaluate and adopt Databricks
• Consult on big data architecture and implement proof of concepts for strategic customer projects
• Build and present reference architectures, how-tos, and demo applications for customers
• Promote Databricks inspired open-source projects across developer communities through meetups and webinars
• Travel to customers in your region
