Solutions Architects at Databricks are responsible for leading the growth of the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform. They work closely with customers and internal teams to identify use cases, develop architectures, and guide implementations. This role requires expertise in cloud platforms, data engineering, analytics, and machine learning. The Solutions Architect will also promote open source projects and build relationships with customers to establish trust and drive meaningful outcomes.

• 7+ years in a customer-facing pre-sales or consulting role, preferably with big-data technologies.
• Experience designing and architecting distributed data systems.
• Proficiency in programming and debugging in at least one of the following: Python, SQL, Scala, Java, or R.
• Experience with public cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with Data Engineering technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, or Kafka.
• Experience with Data Warehousing technologies including SQL, OLTP/OLAP/DSS.
• Undergraduate degree or higher in an engineering or mathematics discipline.

• Partner with the sales team to help customers understand how Databricks can solve their business problems.
• Provide technical leadership for customers to evaluate and adopt Databricks.
• Consult on big data architecture and execute proof of concepts for strategic customer projects.
• Build and present reference architectures and demonstrate applications for customers.
• Promote open source projects across developer communities through meetups, conferences, and webinars.
• Travel to meet with customers in the assigned territory.
