As a Technical Consultant, Enterprise Data Engineer at Esri, you will design and implement scalable geospatial data platforms that support Defense and Intelligence operations. This role involves working directly with customers to architect data solutions that manage and optimize complex datasets in secure environments. You will ensure the reliable delivery of critical geospatial information through robust database design and performance tuning. The position combines enterprise data engineering with geospatial technology, allowing you to tackle complex data challenges.

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in database design, administration, and optimization for Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or SAP HANA.
• Familiarity with database design principles, data loading techniques, backup and recovery solutions, performance monitoring and tuning, database maintenance, and security.
• Scripting skills in SQL and Python for automation and data workflows.
• Exposure to geospatial concepts such as spatial data types, coordinate systems, and spatial indexing.
• Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to technical peers and non-technical project managers or customers.
• US citizenship with Active or Current (within 2 years of active) Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, GIS, or related STEM field.

• Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure database solutions to support mission-critical applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams during all phases of implementation including requirements, analysis, design, build/configuration, and deployment.
• Configure and maintain database environments, including backup, restore, high-availability, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Monitor and tune database performance using industry-standard tools and methodologies.
• Implement data security measures, access controls, and compliance standards across environments.
• Automate routine database loading, maintenance, and monitoring tasks to improve efficiency.
• Provide technical guidance and best practices for database design, migration, and integration projects.
