Job description
As a Senior Developer Advocate for Omnigent at Databricks, you will act as a crucial link between engineering teams and the open source community. Your role focuses on building a vibrant community around Omnigent, a meta-harness for AI agents, by creating templates, demos, and educational content. You will engage with developers to help them integrate Omnigent into their stacks and support new contributors in their journey. This position emphasizes knowledge-sharing activities and collaboration with fellow Developer Advocates to drive awareness and adoption of the platform.
Requirements
- 5+ years of combined experience as a developer advocate and in a hands-on technical role such as software engineer, ML engineer, or solutions architect.
- Professional experience building software and current hands-on experience with agentic developer tooling and coding agents.
- Strong Python and TypeScript skills, and comfort at the command line and in other people's codebases.
- Demonstrated experience contributing to open source projects and working in the open.
- Subject matter knowledge of agent architecture, orchestration, sandboxing, and the practical problems of running agents safely and affordably.
- Experience growing a contributor community, not just a user base.
- Active participation and recognized leadership in open source community forums, chats, and meetups.
- A public portfolio of technical work including repositories, tutorials, talks, or sustained community contributions.
- Exceptional communication skills, with a talent for articulating complex concepts through writing, teaching, video, and public speaking.
- Deep empathy for developer needs, with the ability to craft engaging experiences across tutorials, sample projects, and community platforms.
- Adept at collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to align community initiatives with product objectives.
Responsibilities
- Own medium-to-large advocacy projects end-to-end for Omnigent, from scoping through delivery.
- Grow the Omnigent contributor community by lowering the barrier to a first contribution and helping new maintainers take on real responsibility.
- Drive external adoption by showing developers how to integrate Omnigent into their existing agent stacks and products.
- Create practical templates, sample repositories, and reference implementations that developers can clone, fork, and ship.
- Create high-quality educational content including videos, tutorials, courseware, and blog posts.
- Drive awareness and adoption of Omnigent through speaking engagements at industry events, conferences, and meetups.
- Act as a trusted advisor between the community and our engineering team, influencing roadmap discussions.
- Support developers in community forums such as GitHub issues, Discord, Slack, Stack Overflow, and Reddit.
- Mentor and unblock less-experienced advocates in content, demos, and public speaking.
