The Engineering Leader will head the Pipelines Engine engineering team at Databricks, focusing on building next-generation Runtime ETL features and enhancing the performance of Lakeflow Pipelines. This role involves managing a team responsible for processing vast amounts of data daily and ensuring high-quality infrastructure services. The leader will also oversee recruitment and upskilling of talent while implementing product vision and strategy aligned with organizational goals. This position is critical for driving innovation in data engineering and ETL workloads.

• Minimum 3 years of experience in managing top-tier engineering teams
• 5+ years of experience building data infrastructure systems such as Apache Spark or database internals
• A passion for database systems, storage systems, distributed systems, or performance optimization
• Experience working with product management and directly with customers to understand their needs
• Ability to ensure the team builds high-quality and reliable infrastructure services
• Expertise in attracting, hiring, and coaching engineers to meet hiring standards
