As a Forward Deployed Engineer at Databricks, you will collaborate with customers to address their data and AI challenges using the Databricks platform. This hands-on role requires a blend of engineering expertise and customer engagement to deliver impactful solutions. You will lead architecture and design decisions while ensuring that systems are secure and scalable. The position emphasizes customer empathy and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable solutions.

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
• Proficiency in coding with Python, Scala, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern frameworks.
• Experience with two or more common Cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) with expertise in at least one.
• Deep experience with distributed computing using Apache Spark and knowledge of Spark runtime internals.
• Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments.
• Working knowledge of MLOps, ML/AI models, and AI APIs.
• Experience in designing and deploying performant production end-to-end data architectures and applications.
• Proven track record in managing technical project delivery, including scope and timelines.
• Strong documentation and white-boarding skills.
• Experience working with enterprise clients and managing conflicts across a broad stakeholder range.
• Demonstrated curiosity, adaptability, and eagerness to explore new technologies.
• Willingness to travel to customers 20% of the time.
• Databricks Certification.

• Lead impactful customer technical projects by delivering production-grade systems and designing reference architectures.
• Guide strategic customers in implementing transformational big data projects, including end-to-end design and deployment.
• Advise customers on architecture and design to ensure successful understanding and adoption of Databricks.
• Lead architecture and design decisions to ensure solutions meet customer needs and Databricks best practices.
• Collaborate with the Databricks technical team and customer teams to ensure technical components are delivered effectively.
• Work with Engineering and Customer Support to provide feedback and resolve engagement-specific issues.
• Engage with customer teams to understand challenges and deliver impactful solutions.
• Contribute to the development of reusable assets, frameworks, and best practices to scale impact across accounts.
