As a Sr. Forward Deployed Engineer at Databricks, you will collaborate with customers to address their data and AI challenges using the Databricks platform. This hands-on, customer-facing role requires a blend of engineering expertise and business impact, focusing on delivering production-grade systems and guiding customers through transformational big data projects. You will lead architecture and design decisions, ensuring solutions are secure and scalable while working closely with various teams to meet customer needs. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills and a passion for solving complex problems.

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering
• Proficiency in coding with Python, Scala, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern frameworks
• Experience with at least one common Cloud ecosystem (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Deep knowledge of distributed computing with Apache Spark™
• Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments
• Working knowledge of MLOps, ML/AI models, and AI APIs
• Experience in designing and deploying performant production end-to-end data architectures
• Strong project delivery experience managing scope, timelines, and measurable outcomes
• Excellent documentation and white-boarding skills
• Experience working with enterprise clients and managing conflicts across stakeholders
• Willingness to travel to customers 20% of the time
• Databricks Certification

• Lead impactful customer technical projects by delivering production-grade systems and designing reference architectures.
• Guide strategic customers in implementing transformational big data projects, including end-to-end design and deployment.
• Advise customers on architecture and design to ensure successful adoption of Databricks.
• Lead architecture and design decisions to ensure solutions meet customer needs and Databricks best practices.
• Collaborate with the Databricks technical team and customer teams to deliver technical components effectively.
• Work with Engineering and Customer Support to provide feedback and resolve engagement-specific issues.
• Engage with customer teams to understand challenges and deliver impactful solutions.
• Contribute to accelerators, frameworks, and best practices that scale impact across accounts.
