The Big Data Solutions Architect will work within the Professional Services team to address clients' big data challenges using the Databricks platform. This role involves providing data engineering, data science, and cloud technology projects while ensuring excellent customer service. The architect will engage with clients on various technical projects, including designing reference architectures and implementing big data applications. Reporting to the regional Manager/Lead, the architect will also collaborate with internal teams to deliver successful outcomes for customers.

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms, and analytics.
• Proficiency in writing code in Python, Scala, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern frameworks.
• Working knowledge of two or more common Cloud ecosystems such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, with expertise in at least one.
• Deep experience with distributed computing using Apache Spark and knowledge of Spark runtime internals.
• Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments.
• Working knowledge of MLOps.
• Experience in designing and deploying performant end-to-end data architectures.
• Experience with technical project delivery, managing scope and timelines.
• Strong documentation and white-boarding skills.
• Experience working with clients and managing conflicts.
• Ability to build skills in technical areas that support the deployment and integration of Databricks-based solutions.
• Willingness to travel to customers 20% of the time.
• Databricks Certification.

• Work on impactful customer technical projects, including designing and building reference architectures.
• Collaborate with engagement managers to scope a variety of professional services work.
• Guide strategic customers in implementing transformational big data projects and 3rd party migrations.
• Consult on architecture and design, and implement customer projects to ensure successful adoption of Databricks.
• Provide escalated support for customer operational issues.
• Collaborate with the Databricks technical team, Project Manager, Architect, and Customer team to meet technical engagement needs.
• Work with Engineering and Databricks Customer Support to provide product feedback and resolve engagement-specific issues.
