The Software Development Engineer II (SDE II) role at Twitch focuses on building and operating critical services for the Security Platform team. This team is responsible for enabling security at scale across Twitch through software, data, and automation. The position involves working on large-scale security telemetry, automating security workflows, and providing reliable data and services to internal teams. • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years building and operating production backend services with end-to-end ownership.
• Deep fluency in a modern programming language such as Go, Java, or Python.
• Hands-on experience with AWS for designing, deploying, and operating production services.
• Experience with security, data, and privacy systems, including compliance-driven workflows.

• Own and deliver well-scoped software projects end-to-end, from design through production support.
• Partner across Security, Identity, Privacy, and Infrastructure on Twitch-wide initiatives.
• Drive operational excellence by ensuring observability, reliability, and operational readiness for critical systems.
• Participate in design and code reviews, influencing decisions through technical leadership.
• Work on projects that span areas such as security data ingestion, detection and response automation, and vulnerability management.
