As a Forward Deployed Engineer at Databricks, you will collaborate with customers to address their data and AI challenges using the Databricks platform. This hands-on, customer-facing role requires a blend of engineering expertise and business acumen to deliver impactful solutions. You will lead architecture and design decisions, ensuring that systems are secure and scalable while meeting customer needs. The position emphasizes customer empathy and the ability to manage technical projects effectively.

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
• Proficiency in coding with Python, Scala, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern frameworks.
• Experience with at least one major Cloud ecosystem (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Deep knowledge of distributed computing with Apache Spark and its runtime internals.
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices for production deployments.
• Working knowledge of MLOps, ML/AI models, and AI APIs.
• Experience in designing and deploying end-to-end data architectures and applications.
• Strong skills in managing technical project delivery, including scope and timelines.
• Excellent documentation and white-boarding skills.
• Experience working with enterprise clients and managing diverse stakeholder conflicts.
• Demonstrated curiosity and adaptability in exploring new technologies.
• Willingness to travel to customers 20% of the time.
• Databricks Certification.

• Lead impactful customer technical projects by delivering production-grade systems.
• Design and build reference architectures, custom applications, and data ingestion and ML/AI model integration.
• Guide strategic customers in implementing transformational big data projects.
• Collaborate with engagement managers to scope technical delivery work based on customer input.
• Provide architectural guidance and bootstrap customer projects for successful adoption of Databricks.
• Work with technical teams to ensure delivery of engagement-specific technical components.
• Provide product and implementation feedback to Engineering and Customer Support.
• Engage with customer teams to understand challenges and deliver impactful solutions.
• Contribute to the creation of reusable assets, frameworks, and best practices.
