As a Forward Deployed Engineer at Databricks, you will engage with customers to develop and implement solutions addressing their data and AI challenges using the Databricks platform. This hands-on, customer-facing role requires a blend of engineering expertise and business acumen to deliver impactful projects. You will lead architecture and design decisions while collaborating with various teams to ensure customer needs are met. The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology and a commitment to customer success.

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
• Proficiency in coding with Python, Scala, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern frameworks.
• Experience with at least one major Cloud ecosystem (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Deep knowledge of distributed computing with Apache Spark and its runtime internals.
• Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments.
• Working knowledge of MLOps, ML/AI models, and AI APIs.
• Experience in designing and deploying production end-to-end data architectures and applications.
• Strong project delivery experience, managing scope, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
• Excellent documentation and white-boarding skills.
• Experience working with enterprise clients and managing conflicts across diverse stakeholders.
• Demonstrated curiosity and adaptability in exploring new technologies.
• Willingness to travel to customers 20% of the time.
• Databricks Certification.

• Lead impactful customer technical projects by delivering production-grade systems.
• Design and build reference architectures, custom applications, and data ingestion and ML/AI model integration.
• Guide customers in implementing transformational big data projects, including end-to-end design, build, and deployment.
• Lead architecture and design decisions to ensure secure and scalable solutions.
• Collaborate with the Databricks technical team, Project Manager, Architect, and Customer team to meet engagement needs.
• Provide product and implementation feedback to Engineering and Databricks Customer Support.
• Engage with customer teams to understand challenges and deliver impactful solutions.
• Contribute to accelerators, frameworks, and best practices that scale impact across accounts.
