As a Forward Deployed Engineer at Databricks, you will collaborate with customers to address their data and AI challenges using the Databricks platform. This hands-on, customer-facing role requires a blend of engineering expertise and business acumen to deliver impactful solutions. You will lead architecture and design decisions while working cross-functionally with various teams to ensure customer success. • 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
• Proficiency in coding with Python, Scala, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern frameworks.
• Experience with at least one major Cloud ecosystem (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Deep knowledge of distributed computing with Apache Spark and its runtime internals.
• Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments.
• Working knowledge of MLOps, ML/AI models, and AI APIs.
• Experience in designing and deploying end-to-end data architectures and applications.
• Strong project delivery experience, managing scope, timelines, and outcomes.
• Excellent documentation and white-boarding skills.
• Experience working with enterprise clients and managing stakeholder conflicts.
• Demonstrated curiosity and eagerness to explore new technologies.
• Willingness to travel to customers 20% of the time.
• Databricks Certification.

• Lead impactful customer technical projects by delivering production-grade systems.
• Design and build reference architectures, custom applications, and data ingestion and ML/AI model integration.
• Guide strategic customers in implementing transformational big data projects.
• Collaborate with engagement managers to scope technical delivery work.
• Provide architectural guidance to customers and implement projects for successful adoption of Databricks.
• Work with technical teams to ensure engagement components meet customer needs.
• Provide product and implementation feedback to Engineering and Customer Support.
• Engage with customer teams to understand challenges and deliver impact.
• Contribute to accelerators, frameworks, and best practices that scale impact across accounts.
