As a Forward Deployed Engineer at Databricks, you will collaborate with customers to develop and implement solutions for their data and AI challenges using the Databricks platform. This hands-on, customer-facing role requires a blend of engineering expertise and business acumen to deliver impactful projects. You will lead architecture and design decisions, ensuring solutions meet customer needs while adhering to best practices. The role emphasizes customer empathy and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable solutions.

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering
• Proficiency in coding with Python, Scala, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern frameworks
• Experience with two or more cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) with expertise in at least one
• Deep knowledge of distributed computing with Apache Spark and its runtime internals
• Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments
• Working knowledge of MLOps, ML/AI models, and AI APIs
• Experience in designing and deploying performant production end-to-end data architectures and applications
• Experience managing technical project delivery, including scope and timelines
• Strong documentation and white-boarding skills
• Experience working with enterprise clients and managing conflicts across stakeholders
• Demonstrated curiosity and adaptability in exploring new technologies
• Willingness to travel to customers 20% of the time
