As a Forward Deployed Engineer at Databricks, you will work closely with customers to address their data and AI challenges using the Databricks platform. This hands-on, customer-facing role requires a blend of engineering expertise and business acumen to deliver impactful solutions. You will lead architecture and design decisions while ensuring that systems are secure and scalable. The position emphasizes customer empathy and collaboration across various teams to drive measurable outcomes.

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
• Proficiency in coding with Python, Scala, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern frameworks.
• Experience with at least one major Cloud ecosystem (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Deep understanding of distributed computing with Apache Spark and knowledge of Spark runtime internals.
• Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments.
• Working knowledge of MLOps, ML/AI models, and AI APIs.
• Experience in designing and deploying end-to-end data architectures and applications.
• Strong documentation and white-boarding skills.
• Experience working with enterprise clients and managing conflicts across a broad stakeholder range.
• Willingness to travel to customers 20% of the time.
• Databricks Certification.

• Lead impactful customer technical projects by delivering production-grade systems.
• Design and build reference architectures, custom applications, and data ingestion and ML/AI model integration.
• Guide strategic customers in implementing transformational big data projects.
• Collaborate with engagement managers to scope technical delivery work.
• Provide guidance on architecture and design to empower customers.
• Ensure technical components of engagements meet customer needs.
• Work with Engineering and Customer Support to provide feedback and resolve issues.
• Engage with customer teams to understand challenges and deliver impact.
• Contribute to accelerators, frameworks, and best practices that scale impact across accounts.
