The Senior Engineering Manager will lead a team within the Configuration Platform organization at Databricks, focusing on enhancing the systems that manage configuration and feature flags across services. The manager will drive strategies to improve stability and safety in code deployment, ensuring engineers can ship changes efficiently. • 5+ years managing backend, infrastructure, or platform teams of roughly 7 to 15 engineers.
• Strong distributed systems and infrastructure background, including Java/Scala services and Kubernetes-based microservices.
• Hands-on EM disposition, staying close to the code and leading design reviews.
• Demonstrated track record managing, growing, and retaining high performing teams.
• Operational experience owning a high-availability platform with on-call and incident response.
• BS in Computer Science, with a Masters or higher level of education preferred.

• Lead a team that shapes how thousands of Databricks engineers ship, ramp, and roll back changes.
• Reduce the rate and blast radius of customer-impacting incidents caused by configuration changes.
• Drive company-wide MTTR down through investments in health-mediated releases and auto-rollback.
