The Solutions Architect role at Databricks focuses on leading the growth of the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform. This customer-facing position requires expertise in cloud platforms, data engineering, and analytics, where the architect will work closely with customers and internal teams to develop solutions. The role emphasizes building relationships with clients and establishing oneself as a trusted advisor. The Solutions Architect will report to a Field Engineering Manager within the Financial Services team.

• 8+ years in a customer-facing pre-sales or consulting role, preferably with big-data technologies.
• Experience designing and architecting distributed data systems.
• Proficiency in programming and debugging in at least one of the following: Python, SQL, Scala, Java, or R.
• Experience with public cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Undergraduate degree or higher in an engineering or mathematics discipline.

• Partner with the sales team to help customers understand how Databricks can solve their business problems.
• Provide technical leadership for customers to evaluate and adopt Databricks.
• Consult on big data architecture and execute proof of concepts for strategic customer projects.
• Build and present reference architectures and demonstrate applications for customers.
• Travel to meet with customers in your territory.
