The role at Databricks is for a senior technical leader focused on observability and governance within a multi-tenant data and AI platform. The position involves driving strategy and execution across teams responsible for Query Observability, SQL Warehouse Management, and Account-Level Observability and Governance. The leader will establish a durable architecture, mentor engineers, and champion high-quality software practices. This role is pivotal in enhancing performance, reliability, and cost transparency for customers.

• 12+ years of experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems, observability or governance platforms, databases, or backend infrastructure.
• A proven track record as a technical leader in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
• Deep understanding of computer science fundamentals including algorithms, data structures, and systems design.
• Experience with observability and telemetry pipelines, query engines, distributed tracing, time-series storage, data governance, or large-scale logging systems.
• Strong cross-functional communication skills to align engineering, product, and infrastructure partners.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience; MS/PhD is a plus.
• Bonus: experience building agentic experiences using LLMs.

• Establish the long-term technical direction across query observability, warehouse management, and account-level governance.
• Design and lead high-impact projects to improve performance, reliability, and cost transparency for customers.
• Build the next generation of agentic observability and governance experiences.
• Partner with various teams to integrate end-to-end visibility and governance across the data and control planes.
• Mentor senior engineers and set technical standards across the group.
• Champion reliable, high-quality software and operational practices for product surfaces.
