The Software Engineering Manager for Business AI Agent at Google will lead a team focused on developing AI platforms that enhance merchant-consumer interactions across various Google services. This role involves managing software engineers, optimizing project goals, and contributing to product strategy. The team is dedicated to solving complex AI challenges to create reliable and intelligent agent experiences. The manager will oversee the deployment of large-scale projects and ensure the continuous improvement of AI systems.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience coding in one or more general-purpose programming languages focused on backend system architecture.
• Experience building automated LLM evaluation pipelines or defining LLM-specific reliability metrics.
• Experience with backend, distributed systems, or AI/ML systems infrastructure.
• Experience managing software engineers, including performance management and mentoring.

• Manage and mentor a Software Engineering team, owning the roadmap and architecture for applied AI.
• Lead Knowledge Library and merchant control engineering, building advanced RAG integrations.
• Oversee autonomous execution tooling and Universal Commerce Protocol integration to enable active user journeys.
• Advocate prompt tuning and loss diagnosis while scaling LLM-based AutoRater frameworks.
• Partner with Product, Data Science, UX, and core Google platform teams to define Ground Truth datasets.
