As a Data Scientist on the Data Team at Databricks, you will play a crucial role in fostering a data-driven culture within the organization. You will work on key data science areas such as segmentation, recommendation systems, and forecasting, while collaborating closely with various teams including Engineering and Product Management. Your expertise will help shape product usage patterns and drive data-driven decisions. Additionally, you will mentor junior data scientists and represent the data science discipline across the organization.

• 7+ years of data science, machine learning, and advanced analytics experience in high velocity, high-growth companies.
• Extensive experience in applying Data Science and ML for the end-to-end development and deployment of data-driven products.
• Familiarity with product data science, including understanding customer and user behavior.
• Strong coding skills in general purpose languages like Scala or Python.
• Proficient in data analysis and visualization using tools like R and Python.
• Experience with distributed data processing systems like Spark and proficiency in SQL.
• MS or Ph.D. in quantitative fields such as Statistics, Math, Computer Science, or Engineering.

• Shape the direction of key data science areas including segmentation and churn prediction.
• Work closely with Engineering, Product Management, Sales, and Customer Success to understand product usage patterns.
• Manage stakeholders for focus areas by gathering requirements and defining project OKRs.
• Mentor and guide junior data scientists on project planning and technical decisions.
• Represent the data science discipline throughout the organization.
• Build self-serving internal data products to simplify data access within the company.
• Represent Databricks at academic and industrial conferences and events.
