As a Data Scientist on the Data Team at Databricks, you will play a crucial role in fostering a data-driven culture within the organization. You will work on high-priority projects that drive the future direction of Databricks' products. The role involves building robust data science tools and generating strategic business insights to support key engineering initiatives. You will also mentor junior data scientists and represent the data science discipline across the organization.

• 7+ years of data science, machine learning, and advanced analytics experience in high-velocity, high-growth companies.
• Extensive experience in applying Data Science and Machine Learning in production to build data-driven products.
• Experience collaborating with and understanding the needs of senior-level stakeholders from various functions.
• Ability to deal with ambiguity in fast-paced environments and clarify requirements.
• Strong coding skills in Python and SQL.
• Experience with distributed data processing systems like Spark.
• M.S. or Ph.D. in quantitative fields such as Statistics, Math, Computer Science, Physics, Economics, Operational Research, or Engineering.

• Inform decision-making by building robust data science tooling for business leaders, analysts, and other data scientists.
• Work closely with Data Platform and Product Engineering teams to integrate data science tooling with existing offerings.
• Lead insight generation for top company priorities and key engineering initiatives.
• Gather changing requirements, define project OKRs and milestones, and communicate progress to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Mentor and guide junior data scientists on project planning, technical decisions, and code reviews.
• Represent the data science discipline throughout the organization.
• Represent Databricks at academic and industrial conferences and events.
