The Staff Software Engineer, Marketing Agents will be part of the Web Engineering team at Databricks, focusing on transforming content operations through LLM-powered agents. This role involves owning the architecture and delivery of workflows that enable marketing teams to self-serve content creation and publishing. The engineer will work closely with marketing stakeholders to define quality criteria and ensure robust, production-ready agent outputs. Additionally, the position requires mentoring a Senior Engineer and collaborating with other staff engineers on CMS architecture and content quality.

• 12+ years of software engineering experience with a clear track record of technical ownership on production systems.
• Hands-on experience building and operating LLM-powered systems in production.
• Strong understanding of human in the loop system design, including approval workflows and audit logging.
• Deep understanding of how agents interact with content systems and publishing pipelines.
• Ability to work directly with non-engineering stakeholders to translate workflow requirements into agent architecture.
• Experience mentoring engineers and elevating technical execution across a team.

• Own the architecture and delivery of agentic workflows that enable marketing to self-serve content creation and publishing.
• Partner with the Web Platform Staff Engineer on CMS architecture to support agent workflows.
• Build and own the agent reliability system, defining output quality criteria and implementing evaluation suites.
• Architect human in the loop review systems across the publishing pipeline.
• Encode brand, legal, and compliance constraints as enforceable guardrails within agent workflows.
• Partner with the Web Products Staff Engineer to ensure agent-generated content meets quality and brand standards.
• Mentor and grow the Senior Engineer on the team, setting standards for production-grade engineering.
