Job description
As a software engineer with a backend focus at Databricks, you will collaborate with your team and product management to design, implement, and operate micro-services for the Databricks platform. You will work with technologies such as Scala/Java, Apache Spark™, and cloud APIs. The role involves building data pipelines and integrating with third-party applications. You will be part of a team that pushes the boundaries of data and AI technology while ensuring resilience and security.
Requirements
- BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or a related field
- 10+ years of production level experience in Java, Scala, C++, or a similar language
- Experience in architecting, developing, deploying, and operating large scale distributed systems
- Good knowledge of SQL
- Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, and Kubernetes
Responsibilities
- Work closely with your team and product management to prioritize and design micro-services
- Write software in Scala/Java and build data pipelines using Apache Spark™ and Apache Kafka
- Integrate with third-party applications and interact with cloud APIs
- Ensure the software operates with resilience, security, and scale
- Contribute to the development of services and infrastructure for various teams within Databricks
