Job description
As a backend-focused software engineer at Databricks, you will work on designing, implementing, testing, and operating micro-services for the Databricks platform. You will collaborate closely with your team and product management to prioritize tasks and ensure high-quality deliverables. The role involves working with technologies such as Scala/Java, Apache Spark™, and cloud APIs. You will have the opportunity to join various teams focused on data science, compute fabric, data storage, and observability.
Requirements
- BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
- 10+ years of production level experience in Java, Scala, C++, or a similar language.
- Experience in architecting, developing, deploying, and operating large scale distributed systems.
- Good knowledge of SQL.
- Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement micro-services for the Databricks platform.
- Write software in Scala/Java and build data pipelines using Apache Spark™ and Apache Kafka.
- Integrate with third-party applications and interact with cloud APIs.
- Collaborate with product management to prioritize and deliver on multi-year visions.
- Ensure the resilience, security, and scalability of the software.
