As a software engineer with a backend focus at Databricks, you will work on building and operating micro-services for the Databricks platform. You will collaborate closely with your team and product management to prioritize and implement solutions that address real-world challenges. The role involves writing software in Scala or Java, building data pipelines, and integrating with cloud APIs. • BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or a related field
• 10+ years of production level experience in Java, Scala, C++, or a similar language
• Experience in architecting, developing, deploying, and operating large scale distributed systems
• Good knowledge of SQL
• Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, and Kubernetes

• Design, implement, and test micro-services for the Databricks platform
• Build data pipelines using Apache Spark and Apache Kafka
• Integrate with third-party applications and interact with cloud APIs
• Work towards a multi-year vision with incremental deliverables
• Ensure software security and manage systems that handle sensitive data
