As the Technical Lead on the Lakebase Manager team at Databricks, you will be responsible for driving, building, and operating the central control plane for Lakebase. This role focuses on managing the full database lifecycle at scale, ensuring reliability and quality in the team's output. You will work closely with the engineering manager and lead the technical direction of the team. The position requires hands-on involvement in coding and architecture, particularly in a distributed systems environment.

• 8+ years of experience designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems.
• A proven track record of technical leadership as an individual contributor.
• Strong hands-on experience in designing systems and writing production code.
• Experience operating reliability-critical, highly available services.
• Proficiency in Go, Rust, or a similar systems language, with experience in PostgreSQL and Kubernetes being a plus.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.

• Set the technical direction for the Lakebase Manager team and ensure the quality and reliability of the team's output.
• Drive architecture and design, and write code on the most challenging parts of the team's projects.
• Uphold high technical standards through architecture reviews, testing, and fostering a culture of engineering excellence.
• Mentor engineers and enhance their skills in distributed systems and design.
• Define Service Level Indicators (SLIs), meet Service Level Objectives (SLOs), and drive long-term reliability improvements.
• Lead cross-team initiatives and align with partner teams on dependencies and projects.
